Its just invested massively in the UK, not in any if your 27 member states. There's a reason for that but you wouldn't understand.
You're right in that the esa has nothing to do with the EU.
Those investments however, you are paying yourself (a bit like paying the EU for membership, and getting a part back in subsidies).
