Re: Beef joints what cut do you buy ?
Like you Kitty, we buy the top side, top rump. Strangely enough we had a silverside the other week and it was awful - the dog had most of it.Re: Beef joints what cut do you buy ?

We gave up on being able to buy decent beef from the supermarkets, so now only buy it for special occasions from the local butcher. We buy the cheaper cuts for pies and mince for lasagne, but other than that we don't really eat beef, preferring chicken and fish more often...Re: Beef joints what cut do you buy ?
Kitty darlin' since you have a slow cooker, why not 'roast' whatever joint of beef in that anyway. If you place joint in slow cooker Saturday night and switch on before you go to bed, it will be cooking whilst you're sleeping and the smell in the kitchen on Sunday morning is wonderful!!! I promise you, irrespective of the joint, the meat will be that tender, you won't be able to pick it up on a fork.Re: Beef joints what cut do you buy ?
