Re: Some of our Australian fauna

Wonderful critter..how big are they and are they dangerous?
Somewhat like the alligators in Florida that fascinated me...so old looking, timeless...evolution wise...hugs, Shirley

Re: Some of our Australian fauna

For nearly 30 years there have been red back spiders living beside my front door. For the last week or so one of these net casting spiders has taken up residence.

This one is about 150mm from leg end to leg end (its a bit of a legend)

Yep, it was. The emus are wild but like pigeons have learned to hang about when people stop to see if there is an easy meal.

It was a BBQ area near Warialda off the Gwydir Highway (one of the worst roads in the state in my opinion) called Cranky Rock Reserve

Bruce, great rock photo! I barely remember one in my state that I saw as a kid, called Balancing Rock, like yours but on the edge of a high cliff at the edge of Lake Superior...it is gone as it tipped a bit and went into the lake. We actually climbed on top of it...until Dad saw us...hugs, Shirley
