Sleep problems?

Not sure if here is the right place for this but I am sure it will be moved if not.

I know I have mentioned elsewhere the efficacy of sage capsules for menopausal symptoms but I have also discovered another herbal remedy which is marvelous. I was told about this by our local librarian of all people and it works soooo well.

Right lady get to the point, Valerian capsules! For out and out insomnia or those odd nights when you are overtired and cannot drop off, or indeed any time when you need to sleep. It is an ancient remedy and truly works wonders. And the funny thing is that on the few occasions I have used it I find that I have had the deepest most refreshing sleep, and wake up the next day 'wide awake' which I have to say is not usual for me, as I frequently find myself half asleep during the day and requiring an afternoon nap. But when I have taken one, just the one, capsule I find I have had a solid eight hours and feel really perky.

Beware though they smell like a cross between sweaty feet and horse manure lol. As far as I am aware they are also non addictive with no side effects.

They do have side effects so best to go by how fit you are in the first place, gastric problems and dizziness can be caused.

Let us know please, Julie, how you get on with them. Always handy for the odd nights when you just can't get your rhythm back!

Re: Sleep problems?

I tried valerian and unfortunately it didn't work for me. I wake up at least twice during the night. Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Sleep problems?

I am curious as to why Cranberry has asked Julie how she gets on with the capsules when I have already said how good I have found them?

Re: Sleep problems?
