The World Cup
Watched the match last night - Brazil and Croatia, pretty good except for the penalty. To the right of the referee a giant screen and would would take seconds to look at the instant replay - so why not. The ref cannot always 'see' every incident - so a quick look at the replay would be so much more productive.Wish they would bring this in .......

I'm not into football at all but I will - occasionally watch a World-class game if only to see if the antics world-wide in football are as I suspect!For me it is a GAME.
That means the spirit of fair play & sportsmanship should endure & over-ride everything else, but I doubt it will.
For me, seeing a coked-up Diego Maradona performing years ago was the absolute pits - the man had talent coming out of his A******e for chrissakes!!
I've now got to the point where I do not want to watch this spectacle at all because I fear that corruption has spoiled what was once called "the beautiful game".
Also, Sepp Blatter should be removed IMMEDIATELY so that any real credibility regarding this "competition" should be absolutely clear! stevmk2

George Best was the finest footballer i ever saw live,a product of his times (60`s) not sure he could exist in todays game.If England get to the quarter finals, i may start to take a bit of interest. More concerned with the antics of my club Newcastle United. (Toon)
