Local fodder is best. Once some fruits & veggies are picked green they don't ripen right. If I want oranges or grapefruit- I just go out my front door.
Unripened 'green' oranges make fabulous pellets for throwing or loading into sling shots. (Voice of experience!!!)

WE have "big box" warehouse stores here called Costco. They have a snack bar inside that serves a 1/4 pound hotdog or sausage do plus a big drink for $1.50. It's a regular stop on my way around the store. The store also offers food & drink samples on little tables throughout the store, usually at the end of every aisle. One can eat lunch if they stop at every one.

Hmmmmm I like this store, but they'll have to widen the doors as I'd never get out again!!! On second thoughts maybe that's just as well _ I could move in.

Re: FAIRTRADE Products?

I look out for the Fairtrade labels when shopping. When there is an option of choosing a Fairtrade product that is what I will buy. Cotton clothing in particular can now readily be found with the Fairtrade label on.

Re: FAIRTRADE Products?

What is so confusing with fairtrade is, that you buy something say hot chocolate from a supermarket which says fairtrade on it and then you never see it again. Am I missing something, do they not go to these countries again.

As soon as you see the word FAIRTRADE, you know it is far from the truth.

Same old....same old, the rich get richer and the poor lose out, again. I will have to rethink my buying of Fair trade products - always thought it was too good to be true!
