My daughter brings down her female terrier to our place regularly, we have a male terrier and the pair of them prance around the garden but that's as far as it goes. Have they love like brother and sister or is my chap gay? I'll never know.

Re: What is 'love'?

Love is ... just that - Love! It cannot truly be defined or have a reason for being. It just is.

It is overwhelming, warming, painful, joyful, tearful and glorious!

If you try to question or over analyze it you will lose it.

Just open your heart, let it in and let it out, and enjoy it.

Re: What is 'love'?
Love means wanting the best for that person or animal or thing.
There can be differing degrees of the emotion behind it but you
still think I love that person no matter what even if they hurt
you.
I do not hate my enemies I just don't love them enough to do so
but I also don't think often of any enemies as it destroys you to hate.
That is very true. It "makes you ugly" and will eat away at you.

Well put Jem. I agree with that.

Probably not in the human sense, but something makes some birds, geese for example, pair for life, and can even pine away if they lose their mate.
(Even some humans don't do that)!

One definition for love is never having to say you're sorry.

I don't see that at all! One should always apologise when one is in the wrong, whether you are fond of the person or not.

Agree with that - saying sorry shows love, 'never' having to say you're sorry - is impossible .......

Re: What is 'love'?

You know when a couple are in love when they BOTH apologise for the same occurrence.
