I enjoyed it too. Surprise ending. Good to see Penelope Wilton in a different role to Ann (Ever Decreasing Circles).

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

I have also seen this film and thought it was just great, Good to see these older stars still getting good parts. Having said that I have also seen Quartet and thought that was even better. Billy Connolly and Pauline Collins stole the show in my opinion. Never been a fan of Billy Connolly brcause of his foul mouth but in this he was excellent.

Thanks for that mari, I shall be looking out for that. Billy Connolly seems to be growing up lately he was seen last night looking great at the BAFTA's long white hair and an evening suit he looked great.

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

I have put in a request at the library for the book, it will be fun to know what the people look like. I find if I read a book before seeing the film I have already made up my mind what the people look like and am dissapointed to find they are nothing like my imaginary folk on screen.

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

Well, finally got around to watching this last night, and am happy to say was not as disappointed as I thought I might be. Yeah, a few liberties were taken, some 'back story' omitted, a couple of characters left out, but on the whole it was 'fairly' true to the book. But for those who have not read the book all I can say is you really do have to try and get hold of a copy.

It's on my list of books to order from the library. Glad you enjoyed though.
