Cuba is a great country in many ways.
The people are friendly and they have great medical schools which train doctors from all over.
there is a certain sort of equality its not all bad,
It is also a beautiful place with beaches and historical buildings ( that are all falling to bits and crying out to be rescued.)
The Castro are old and really cant last much longer then things will really start to happen.
Sorry I did not make that clear, I meant Guantanamo is run by the USA, of course.
It didn't sound so "of course" at the time, especially after reading all of that slander about those poor innocent men detained there. But yes, I should have realized that it was, indeed "of course".
They are dangerous terrorists no country wants them not even their own horrible countries doesnt that tell you something?
What say you supply a list of their crimes ... and the proof of their guilt? That would really go a very long way to convincing the disbelievers, such as mself.

I have a very strong feeling that this question is going to cast us into a nasty, political-humanitarian debate, but - What sort of things do you think should "really start to happen"?
I not interested in convincing you of anything .
Believe what you like .
What will happen when the Castros die is that Cuba will revert to capitalism the country will welcome investors and the rest of the Carribean will have serious competition in the tourist trade.
As to the inhabitants of the Guantanamo.
They should be brought to trial.
Or sent back to their own hell holes.

Fidel Castro wasn't a Communist anyway. He was a Socialist. He rid Cuba of the American puppet Batista, who allowed the American mafia run Cuba as if it were their own private brothel & gambling hall plus profited from American control of Cuba's natural resources. Castro had no intention of alienating the United States government and (by all reliable sources of the time) expected that the U.S. would appreciate his success in tossing out the mafia. He was actually stunned that the U.S. (rather than admiring his accomplishments) criticized him, broke off diplomatic relations with him, and boycotted Cuba. Castro had no choice but to negotiate with the Soviet Union, which turned out to be Cuba's saviour.
Exactly, they need to be helped back into society and should be allowed to stay in USA if that is what they want.
DING,they can't be brought to the U.S.It would be against the law, that's why they are there. Also Gitmo is more than a Prison that is a small part of it.The Navy uses it as a Fire Training School,The Marines use it as a practice area for beach landings,so does the Army. And they do get Legal Representation, these are the worst of the worst. They can rot away there as far as I'm concerned. They cannot come here,if they did turn them out on the streets, they wouldn't last long.So for their safety they as destined to stay there.
Guantanamo Detainees (02/13/2004)
775 detainees have been brought to Guantanamo. Although most of these have been released without charge, the United States government continues to classify many of these released detainees as "enemy combatants". As of January 2016, 93 detainees remain at Guantanamo.
