He's not a comedian and it wasn't meant as a joke.

Amir Khan (he's a boxer) (born in Britain of Pakistani ancestry) famously asked the question " have we ever had a female Prime Minister."

NB I am NOT asking if you have ever heard of Amir Khan.

Yes but Gravitas, I'm sure if you were to visit, say, Pakistan and somebody began talking about one of their most famous TV stars (or boxers), you probably wouldn't have heard of them. Not everybody has your vast knowledge of world history.

Do try to focus: IT IS NOT ABOUT HAVING A VAST KNOWLEDGE OF WORLD HISTORY. It's about someone who was born in this country, lived here all his life who didn't know we had ever had a female prime minister (when we had one at the time).

OK David Mitchell, teamleader, main comedian, and guest, Big Narstie are sitting side by side. The purpose of Narstie's question: "what's the name of the prime minister?", is to set up a joke for his partner Mitchell. It's a double act, seen here 19:15 - 19:45

He also asked David Mitchel (a comedian) "who did you say was the Prime Minister again". He had to be told it was Theresa May.

Wakey Wakey!
He could, of course, just been saying that in a pathetic attempt to raise a laugh?

I have heard of David Mitchell but probably couldn't pick him out in crowd.

Don't believe I would want to know about anyone named big narstie!

I hadn't either, Tabby. I don't like rap music except the very early stuff in the late 1970's-early 80's. Failed singers aren't they really?

It's just your age.

So which ones didn't you know?

How to pronounce Baddiel (as in David Baddiel) and the name Tobias Had you not heard of Danny Baker, Frank Skinner or Noel Edmonds? Did you not know Game of Thrones was a TV programme? That we have had a female Prime Minister (two of them in fact). Or the saying about red sky at night...
