Re: Chinese Coronavirus

Australia has added Italy to the list of countries from which entry will be banned for non citizens, any one who has visited Italy in the previous fortnight will be refused entry to Australia.

The Federal Government has also announced an over $15 billion stimulus package including a one off payment to welfare recipients, supporting small business with apprentices and tax relief.

The details of that package remain unclear, however, it will include $1.3 billion in support payments to keep almost 120,000 apprentices employed.

The package will include up to $21,000 per small business apprentice to help employers keep these people in work.

This is on top of the bush fire and flood aid packages. I think this year's surplus has gone out the window.

Mixed messages on the virus some experts saying it might peak between May and July.

Re: Chinese Coronavirus

I forgot to mention we are also getting a lot of "pop up" and drive up pathology labs to test for the virus.

Yes, I understand people fleeing famine and war, but why do they pass through a number of safe countries before arriving here?

No need to respond, as we all know the answer.

Perhaps I've missed it, but I still have no idea why Italy should have been infected to a much greater degree than other European countries.

Northern Italy is well known for its skiing holidays during the winter season and people come from all over the world there.

It's been said it's the family culture with many generations mixing frequently. As well as this the kissing on each cheek when greeting has helped spread the virus. Probably why Kensington & Chelsea borough has so many cases. Mwah! Mwah!
