Inquiries!

We have so many inquiries on different issues, it is baffling me why so much money is wasted on this type of who is to blame and why etc.
Yest again this morning a U turn by the government over the recent rail business, Virgin rail taking the government to task over their tender, and now after giving the franchise to another company, the government say they got it wrong, and they will have to tender again. But they are going to hold an inquiry as to why they got their figures wrong.
Give me strength.

I am Geoff, but I consider it a waste of money going there.

Re: Inquiries!

Well it is going to cost us £40 million for compensation to the rail companies involved, and on top of that that it could go into billions.
The laugh is that they may have to go to Virgin and tell them to carry on as before.
What a shower they are turning out to be.

Unfortunately I cannot fault what you are saying in this case Arthur, the government are an absolute shower and not just the politicians, whatever happened to our once "proud to serve" civil service that exemplified everything about efficiency and being proud to be British? Nobody now gives a damn, no-one is ever to blame and no-one ever loses their job, so why should they be bothered...

I despair.......

Re: Inquiries!

I hope you don't get anything like the Mahon Tribunal we had over, it must be in the Guinness book of records as the longest running tribunal in the World, it started in 1997 and finished it's report in 2012, costing the people 250-300 million Euro's, the lawyers were the only winners here, they made a packet, they were inquiring into bent politicians taking bribes for rezoning land, the brown envelope Brigade, and we are still non the wiser about who did what.

Re: Inquiries!

Keeps the "Jobs for the boys" crowd busy, but then again, that ain't a bad thing, provided the cash generated as earnings is spent, and re-enters the economy and invigorates local businesses etc, etc.
