The mouse doesn't like incense

Sometimes I hear what I think is a mouse nibbling away at something in the wall or behind my dresser. If I take a step on the floor or make a noise it stops for a minute then starts up again. Read somewhere that burning incense drives them off because any smell of burning is a sign of danger.

So.... I've been giving it a try. One small incense cone keeps it away for hours.

Apparently they can get used to a scent though so I may have to try a new tactic eventually.

I can't tolerate the smell of moth balls though. I don't mind the incense. We got rid of squirrels in another house years ago by squirting fox urine in the attic. (Bought from a hunting supply store.) The squirrels flew out in panic, we sealed up the holes and they never got back in but they'd sit on the roof chattering and flipping us off with their tails.
