Gayness and the Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America movement have just announced that it will allow openly gay youths to join but still maintain a ban on gay adult leaders.

it said: no youth may be denied membership in the BSofA on the basis of sexual orientation or preference only.

In 2000 the Supreme Court of USA found in favor of the BSofA maintaining its ban on gay membership as part of its right as a private organisation

the conservative Family Research Council are as you may imagine against it saying " Sadly the Boy Scouts legacy of producing great leaders has become yet another casualty of moral compromise"

really - does that mean that if you are gay you are incapable of ever becoming a great leader?

and other simple question now that gay boys are allowed membership how will the movement determine whether all who apply are either gay or straight? - I would be interested in having a peek at their assessment/application form !

And will the non-gay leaders in the pack be charged with keeping the gay members on the straight and narrow path?
