Do you mean "real" conversations rather than on forums? It depends on the subject of course - if it's something I'm interested in and know something about then I'll engage. If not, I sit back and let someone more informed take over.

Everyone has their own point of view and if it's something I am interested in I will just state mine and be done with it, no point in trying to force your views on people, so the answer from me is, I don't really engage, just give my version and let those who want to fight it out continue, as far as I have experienced in forums and no matter how well intentioned the poster was, they usually end up in slagging matchs and have to be stopped, leaving bad blood between members.

I've seen this so many times on other forums. These people just have to have the last word, even if the whole thread has gone off topic lol
