Tea cups or mugs?

Or tea pots or tea bags in a mug?

We both prefer a cup and saucer and a tea pot. We drink black coffee, no sugar, all day in a cup too but our one cup of tea in the afternoon has to be made in a teapot, milk in a jug, all on a tray. (biscuits on a plate for himself )
We do own mugs, which our son and son-in-law like .. but neither of us enjoy using a mug, even in the garden.
So, are you a mug or cup person?

What prompted this was, an offer of some bone china V&A mugs

Re: Tea cups or mugs?

Some years ago my son bought me a beautiful bone china mug, still using it. Brilliant compromise, the feel of the thin china to the lips with the bonus of half as much tea extra.

If I make tea it's a teapot and cups and saucers, hubby makes it in mugs with teabags.

I use a beautiful 'Nan' bone china mug given to me by my granddaughter one Mothers Day, hubby prefers a chunkier mug (I wouldn't trust him with a bone china mug anyway!)

Our tea is always made in the teapot with teabags.

Oooh Des, you have half convinced me to have the mugs.
I think the words 'the feel of the thin china to the lips' might have done it
Lovely 'boy' you have

Pat, I do believe tea bag in a mug is a man's thing

Re: Tea cups or mugs?

I have a proper china tea cup and saucer the size of a mug, good compromise I thought, tea bags in a tea pot as getting rid of tea leaves became a problem.

No coffee just don't like the taste, but I do like a mug of highlights or options hot chocolate first thing in the morning, which my husband reckons is very strange as it is a traditional night time drink.

Re: Tea cups or mugs?

I prefer a mug just because it holds more I only drink coffee but if do have tea I think it's so much nicer when brewed in a teapot but I only like it very weak with no milk or sugar.

Mug for me but do prefer it to be in a China one if possible. For some reason tea tastes better out of bone China. My teapot hasn't been used for months.
