Re: how could it miss?

I've always had a good ear for hits. I'm convinced that's why my sons are all musicians and music lovers. I can't think of a song that wasn't a hit, but must be irritating when you feel it went unnoticed, Vinyl. Come to think of it, I loved a band called Orson and my son and I went to see them in the Student's Union in Glasgow a few years ago. They disbanded, but I thought their songs were fab. Disappointing

Maybe it depends on the competition around at the time. A 60's song and singer may well have been good but some names and groups were so successful back then that all else was pushed down the charts.

In addition to why did it flop ..

What about the One Hit Wonders?

I loved Phyllis Nelson's, Move Closer
And that was the first and last I ever heard of her
