Dowager Egbert Coffee

There was an ad recently for flavoured coffee - so I had a look at it and saw a caramel flavour. It was in a small jar and expensive - I says to Fabs, shall we get this as a treat - yes, says he

I made 2 mugs for us, took a sip and eeeow yuk, horrible sickly stuff
Not wanting to waste it I said, I'll add it to the coffee in the canister, mix it up a bit - did that and eeeow 'orrible
So now I'd tainted all me bloomin coffee
Don't fall for it unless you like sickly smell - sickly taste

These flavoured coffees seem to be the rage at the moment.

Mr M was given one and he quite liked it. Don't think it was caramel though ... and was a syrup that went into the coffee.

Here in Miami we have Cuban Coffee. Its black, very very strong and served in a very small glass. The caffeine really picks you up. Not applicable for those with a weak heart

Don't like the flavoured coffees but like the flavoured chocolate drinks, have to halve the quantity though otherwise that can be sickly, too.

Re: Dowager Egbert Coffee

Here in my home we have strong black coffee every morning.
One heaped spoon of Lyons ground coffee plus one heaped teaspoon of Aldi instant coffee granules in my cafetière with just enough water to make two small cups.....delicious !

Re: Dowager Egbert Coffee

For me, coffee has to be coffee, unadulterated. None of this flavoured stuff unless it's milky coffee, which is a totally different drink.
