Monkeys toenails.

This may seem a stupid question, but as me old dad used to say if you don't ask you'll never know. I was cutting my toenails earlier, they grow very fast, and I just wondered.
How do Monkeys manage to cut their toenails in the wild?

Re: Monkeys toenails.

One would think human toenails would have disappeared by now, we don't need them to hang onto branches anymore, but they just keep on growing and growing, they are a bloody nuisance when you have to cut them, especially the ones on the big toes, tough as steel, what are they good for now I ask you?

Thats a good question. The nails in our fingers still serve a purpose, but as you well observed our toe nails do seem to serve no purrpose. Maybe overtime they will cease to exist.

Exactly, the fingernails do come in handy, try opening a penknofe without them. Maybe toenails are still there for our sins Rodolfo.

Re: Monkeys toenails.

The toenails in the evolution of man are a mystery. A mystery of what man was and to what man has become. Sort of like the human tail bone. Does this tail bone suggests in a mysterious way that primitive man had a tail and that overtime, because of its none use this tail became obsolete ?
