Bank charges

Well within the European Union we have free movement of people but try to send £50 to someone in another European country and it costs £25 ! Thought it was all electronic so would be cheaper, but feels like we paid their electric bill

Re: Bank charges

Would have been my first choice sadly the other party didn't have a PayPal account.

Re: Bank charges

I would have suggested Paypal too Julie - it is easy enough to open an account - I have had one for 13 years and it is great for buying things safely online as well as sending money abroad.
The other party doesn't need a Paypal account as long as they have an email address.

Buying things online particularly, as it means you don't have to put your bank card details on to a company website that you feel unsure about, or haven't used before.

Re: Bank charges

I just amended my first response to add - the other party doesn't need a paypal account, just email.
Although admittedly they will have to set up a Paypal account in order to access the money! but they are sent instructions on how to do this.
