What a pair of pillocks.

I can't believe anyone could like this music, fakes as it turned out but.......the dancing was just as frightening.

There was lots of fakery going on in that period. Who remembers the Black Box debacle? There does seem to be quite a few bands around these days that genuinely play instruments and sing but they don't necessarily make the top 40.
