Yes, very well done I think. Some good acting but I had trouble hearing Mrs. Christie even with my hearing aids.

Is that 'Ethel' Tess? I missed the first quarter of an hour, and didn't know their surname.

I went to see the film, '10, Rillington Place' many years ago at the cinema. It was so dark and depressing that l couldn't bring myself to watch this television version.

I used sing the Ewan MacColl song "Go Down You Murderers" in folk clubs as a teenager. I was fascinated by the Attenborough film, starring John Hurt. I will give this production a chance tonight.

Re: Rillington Place

I was looking forward to seeing it, and thought Roth looked surprisingly like Attenborough's version of Christie - though nothing like the real Christie.

However, I had such trouble hearing what anyone was murmuring I might give up on the next two episodes. I know he was supposed to be sounding quiet and creepy but I couldn't hear anyone else either, despite turning the sound right up. It makes me so mad when the BBC does this.

Also it wasn't explained who the chap was who bought Ethel back home, presumably her brother but how were we supposed to know that?

Re: Rillington Place

Glad it's not only me that has trouble hearing people on TV, especially women for some reason, they do mumble!
