Good post. THank you. My Uncle in the RAAF was stationed in Darwin in WW2. He was killed in the first raid. Darwin had the crap bombed out of it by the Japanese in more than 60 raids. It has also been flattened by cyclones a few times as well. The worst in 1974. BUt they just keep on keeping on.Re: For you Aussies
Far to the south of Darwin (116km) is the Adelaide River War Cemetery which is one of the war cemeteries created for servicemen killed on active service in northern Australia. It includes 63 civilians killed in Japanese bombing raids including 9 postal workers killed in the first raid on Darwin - when the Post Office was particularly targeted.Re: For you Aussies
