Old adverts
I remember a big poster advert on the London Underground station walls in the 1960s. It was for Iris ginger beer and in big type - nothing else - it said
Iris when I’s dri. I thought it was a clever slogan since it just rearranged the letters of the name.
Another advert I remember was shown only at the cinema for Barclays Bank. There were several versions and it was an animation. It had someone trying to buy something but finding that he didn’t have enough cash. So a voiceover told him to write a cheque, which he did. But then he realised something saying “but I haven’t got a bank”. A voiceover then called out “then you should have, go to Barclays!”
