Ricky Valance has died at the age of 84

Ricky Valance died 12 June 2020 at the age of 84 and has been laid to rest in Bedfordshire.

"Family and friends of 1960s Welsh singing star Ricky Valance have paid tribute at his funeral in Bedfordshire.

Valance was famous for his number one single "Tell Laura I Love Her" which stayed at the top of the charts for three weeks in summer 1960 and sold more than a million copies."

'Tell Laura I Love Her' .... yup, I liked that one.

I've only just learnt that the BBC banned it at the time as it was to do with someone committing suicide, those been the last words he said.

RIP Ricky .. 'I loved your song'.
