Re: Are you a hat person?
I wasn't, but as my hair thins and exposes the top of my head, in summer I need a 'panama' to stop getting sun stroke. Many years ago, whilst in Russia it was bitterly cold, and a fur 'shapka' (a hat with ear flaps) was an 'essential' to stop your head from freezing. I now wear the shapka in winter, if its cold enough and the Panama in summer (if/when) the sun shines.Re: Are you a hat person?
I don't like hats but did buy one to wear when we went to Egypt one year. Temperatures were reaching 100ºC there so I thought I would wear it when we visited the Valley of the Kings. As soon as we alighted from the coach, on went the sunhat ....... less than half an hour later I took it off and stuffed it in my bag! I just couldn't stand wearing it any longer, I like to feel freedom on my head!
