WHY
Susan, they were written in Hebrew and had to be translated, a lot can be lost in translation.
The bible to me is just a rule book, nothing more, all old stories handed down in families until we have what we have today.
Some truths some myths some fairy tales, a good book believe it if you like, or as I do believe some of it like myself, but truly a world best seller.

You have consulted every psychic and medium in the land to know that for a fact?

I'm afraid it's you who are deluded.

I know it makes me feel good, I think those that that don't are sceptical and are needing proof and are deep down frightened of death.
I agree Wrinkly.

They're all fakes and the likes of Derren Brown have shown this on TV many times. My grandmother and my father were all closely involved with "mediums" and "psychics" all through my childhood and teens, and a bigger load of tripe I have yet to see. They were all very well meaning, I have to say, but they all spouted drivel.

So your father and grandmother were wrong then, don't you think it gave them great pleasure and solace in their lives, and I assume they would passover very easily accepting death.
Is that a bad thing? I certainly don't think it harmed them in anyway, on the contrary it helped them.
As for Derren Brown say no more I wouldn't give him any of my time, he is a known sceptic illusionist and trickster, and certainly no real knowledge of spiritualism, and he makes money from it, nothing like a good medium.

You obviously have never encountered genuine, gifted ones then.

Re: psychics and mediums

As a young woman, I started having weird happening and was advised to sit in a development circle for mediums. We just talked then meditated and in turn spoke of what had come into our minds. Sometimes we held an object belonging to someone else and again gave off what feelings we got from it.
Nothing weird like sitting around a table or holding hands as seen in films.

I won't comment on myself, but from the eight of us there, only two had what I would call genuine psychic gifts. The others were under the delusion that they had that special thing for mediumship but I found their belief in themselves to be unfounded and sometimes ridiculous. Sadly other people believed in them and payed for sittings with them.

I truly believe that if someone gets comfort from being told something of a loved one no longer here, then no harm is being done, even if it is all in the mind, as some say. I would not in any circumstance pay to see a medium. Sometimes he or she may be right in what they give back, but if someone is paying, then a 'performance' has to be given to warrant the charge.
